Mission

## A predictable maps bill, an honest API, and an edge that is close to your users.
Most map platforms were designed in 2005 for desktop browsers and priced in dollars per 1,000 loads, with billing surprises waiting at the end of the month. maps.guru is built the opposite way: flat monthly pricing with hard quotas, a free tier that does not require a credit card, and an open MapLibre-compatible stack that lets you leave whenever you want.

Values

## Five principles that decide what we ship.
Every feature in maps.guru, from the pricing tier structure to the style editor, is reviewed against the same five questions. If a decision cannot be defended against one of these principles, we do not ship it.

01
### Integrity

No hidden overage, no dark patterns, no surprise bills at the end of the month. The number on the pricing page is the number on your invoice, and we publish what every quota limit costs if you ever want to go beyond it.

02
### People

Built by a small team of developers and cartographers in Pune who answer support tickets themselves. You will not get bounced between tiers when your map is on fire during a product launch.

03
### Velocity

Vector tiles cached at the nearest Cloudflare edge PoP, signed URLs that do not require a round-trip to your origin, and a JS SDK that gets you from sign-up to first rendered tile in under five minutes, including the API key.

04
### Flexibility

Built on open standards: MapLibre GL JS as the renderer, MVT vector tiles, the MapLibre Style Specification, and GeoJSON for overlays. Every style is portable, every dataset is exportable, and every API endpoint has a documented equivalent in the OSS MapLibre ecosystem, so you can leave whenever you want.

05
### Vision

A India-first maps platform means investing in the places global vendors underserve: smaller cities, regional languages, and predictable INR pricing. We are building the map infrastructure that lets Indian product teams compete globally without paying a global tax.

Architecture

## Built on open standards, served from the edge.
Every layer of the maps.guru stack is a standard you can swap, host yourself, or audit. No proprietary renderers, no proprietary tile format, no proprietary style DSL — just the open MapLibre ecosystem plus Cloudflare’s edge network.

MapLibre GL JSOpen-source renderer used in production. Your map UI is portable to any MapLibre-compatible host: no proprietary SDK lock-in.

MVT Vector TilesIndustry-standard Mapbox Vector Tile format hosted as PMTiles single-file archives on Cloudflare R2. Open spec, openly parsable.

GeoJSONEvery overlay, dataset, and custom layer you upload is GeoJSON. Export it, version-control it, render it anywhere: it stays yours.

Cloudflare Edge300+ points of presence across 100+ countries. Tiles are cached at the nearest PoP: sub-100ms cache HIT latency from Mumbai, São Paulo, or Lagos.

MapLibre Style SpecStyles are plain JSON conforming to the MapLibre Style Specification. Import any community style, export any style: no proprietary format conversions.

Status & RoadmapTransparent uptime, open roadmap, and public changelog. We commit to publishing every breaking change at least 30 days before it ships.

## Questions about maps.guru

### Who builds maps.guru?
maps.guru is built by Invarya Technologies Private Limited, a company registered in Pune, Maharashtra, India, founded by Vinayak Kulkarni in 2025.

-
### Why build another maps API?
Because per-request billing punishes exactly the products that need maps most. An Indian delivery or listings startup can serve millions of map views on thin margins, and a metered bill that scales linearly with usage makes that unviable. maps.guru charges a flat monthly tier instead.

-
### Is maps.guru built on open data and open source?
Yes. Basemap geometry comes from OpenStreetMap, tiles are stored as PMTiles, and styles follow the open MapLibre Style Specification. That means no proprietary lock-in on the data or the renderer.

-
### How do I contact the team?
Email hello@invarya.com or use the contact form at maps.guru/contact-us. Enterprise enquiries about custom pricing, SLAs, or self-hosting go through the same address.
